1985 Corvette with stock (original) mufflers. The mufflers were still in pretty good shape but the finish was shot. Also, you can see from these pictures that the inner tail-pipes were non-functional. GM simply welded them on for looks. Pretty cheesy!:

I decided to purchase a set of FlowMasters from Ecklers. These units are aluminized with a black finish and Stainless Steel tips. They are a drop-in replacement for the stock mufflers. The installation was easy. I only had to make one minor modification to the rear muffler hangers. The stock hangers have a slight lip on the bottom edge of the mounting tab. I had to grind the lip off. Other than that they look and sound great!:
